Day 15: Have you ever changed your opinions, depending on the people you are with?

31 Days of BPD

This isn’t really something that ever affects me. I’m pretty headstrong and stubborn so my opinions are my opinions and I’m not going to change them for anyone. If anything, I’m the polar-opposite. I become defensive and get annoyed by other people’s opinions because mine must be right.

As a teenager my answer would have been different. But I think that’s more ‘being a teenager’ and peer pressure rather than being related to my disorder. Especially as other aspects of the disorders have grown since then.

An example that sticks out in my mind and makes me laugh every time I think about it, is that I hate Slush Puppies. Like, seriously – HATE. My high school started doing them at lunch times and all my friends loved them and got them everyday. So, I spent £1.45 on something I hated, every single day, for the rest of that year.

slush

They were disgusting. Can I have a refund please?

I can relate to this doing things because your friends are. At high school and right through my teens I spent probably 50% of my life doing things I hated, aahhh
